Welcome to our website!

The Arbor Vitae Fire and Rescue Department, organized in 1976, is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to take emergency protective measures to save lives, protect property and ensure public health and safety of area residents. Our professional, volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members provide 24 hour-a-day fire and medical response to Arbor Vitae and surrounding areas. We also provide response to adjacent areas and operate within the county wide mutual aid program.

Our firefighters and rescue squad members are trained in the latest fire science and medical techniques and provide a number of services to the community including fire safety programs, educational programs at the schools, tours of the firehouse and public assistance during natural disasters.

The Arbor Vitae Fire and Rescue Department provides emergency response services and life safety education programs to the citizens of Arbor Vitae. This service is provided to approximately 3,100 year round residents and numerous visitors to the area. Emergency response services provided by the department include: fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, technical rescue response, water rescue, off road rescue, as well as wildland fire suppression.

The Arbor Vitae Fire and Rescue Department operates out of two stations. Station 1 is located at 10672 Big Arbor Vitae Dr. Station 2 is located at the intersection of County Highway N and STH 51 in Arbor Vitae.

The Arbor Vitae Fire & Rescue Department hosts an annual fundraiser behind station 1, the first weekend in August. This event is our main fundraiser for the department and helps us purchase much needed equipment. See the Summerfest tab for more info!
